Job summary

Gulf Lubes Malaysia is seeking a Production Planner and Inventory Controller for its biodiesel plant in Selangor. The role focuses on planning, scheduling, and coordinating all production activities to meet targets safely and cost-effectively.

Responsibilities include developing production plans, optimizing schedules, coordinating with multiple teams, maintaining SAP inventory records, analyzing cost variances, and assisting in budgeting and rolling forecasts.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or related field.
• 3 years of experience in production planning and cost control.
• Experience with cost control, data analysis or budgeting is an advantage.
• Knowledge of palm oil production process is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on feedstock availability, demand forecasts, sales orders and plant capacity.
• Optimize production schedules to minimize downtime, changeovers and bottlenecks.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, QC and logistics teams to ensure alignment of activities.
• Maintain accurate inventory records in SAP System, including stock movements, reconciliation and variances.
• Analyze production cost variances, identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare monthly cost-control reports for management (e.g., cost per ton, yield variance, material cost savings).
• Assist in preparation of annual production budget and rolling forecasts, incorporating cost assumptions for materials, utilities and consumables.

The Production planner and inventory control is responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating all production activities for our biodiesel plant. The role ensures efficient utilization of feedstock, equipment, labour and utilities to meet production targets safely and cost-effectively. A key responsibility includes cost control, specifically coordinating, monitoring and compiling data related to commodity usage, feedstock costs and utility consumption to support operational decision-making and budget management.

We are looking for detail-oriented and responsible candidate for our biodiesel plant.

Requirement :

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain or related field
• 3 years of experience in production planning and cost control preferably in chemical, oleochemical, biodiesel or downstream palm oil industry
• Experience with cost control, operational data analysis or manufacturing finance is an advantage
• Strong analytical and numerical skills; experience with cost variance analysis and budgeting
• Knowledge of palm oil production process (crude oil, refining, biodiesel) is advantageous
