Job summary

Mr Bagus Malaysia in Malaysia, Sarawak, Kuching, is seeking a Production Supervisor responsible for planning and supervising the daily production of cabinetry components, ensuring panels are cut accurately and materials prepared on time.

Job description

The Production Supervisor is responsible for planning and supervising the daily production of cabinetry components. The role ensures that panels are cut accurately, materials are prepared on time, machines are operated safely, and production work is completed according to the project schedule and specifications.

The Production Supervisor will work closely with the Site Supervisor, Site Coordinator and production staff to ensure every project is ready for installation.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and plan panel cutting lists based on approved drawings and project measurements.

Arrange panel cutting efficiently to minimise material wastage and maximise panel usage.

Check the required quantity, material type, colour, thickness and dimensions before cutting begins.

Ensure all required panels and cabinet components are prepared and completed on time for each project installation.

Monitor the production schedule and prioritise urgent projects according to the installation timeline.

Communicate with the Site Supervisor and Site Coordinator regarding any special project requirements before production begins.

Clarify any unclear measurements, drawings, materials or project details before proceeding with production.

Supervise production staff and assign daily tasks according to the production schedule.

Ensure all staff operate machines correctly and follow the company’s safety procedures.

Monitor the quality and accuracy of all cut panels and edged components.

Check completed components for incorrect measurements, damaged surfaces, poor edging or other defects.

Ensure production mistakes, material wastage and machine damage are kept to a minimum.

Ensure machines are properly cleaned after every use and the production area is kept clean and organised.

Conduct regular checks on machines and report any machine malfunction, damage or maintenance requirement immediately.

Ensure machine blades, tools and accessories are stored properly after use.

Maintain a safe working environment and ensure staff use appropriate personal protective equipment.

Record material usage, damaged panels, rejected components and production progress.

Report any production delay, material shortage or technical issue to management immediately.

Job Requirements

Previous experience in cabinetry, carpentry, furniture manufacturing or production supervision is preferred.

Able to understand cabinetry drawings, dimensions and panel cutting lists.

Experience operating panel cutting and edge-banding machines.

Good knowledge of machine safety and production procedures.

Able to supervise and guide production staff.

Good planning, communication and problem-solving skills.

Able to work according to project deadlines and installation schedules.

Careful, responsible and able to maintain high-quality workmanship.

Able to calculate panel usage and minimise material wastage.
