Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Operations Manager in Malaysia to oversee daily production activities in a manufacturing environment. You will manage resources, coordinate with procurement, logistics, and sales to meet production targets while upholding quality standards.

The role requires a strong background in operations management, production planning and scheduling, inventory control, and team leadership to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure timely delivery of goods.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing/production.
• Diploma in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field; Bachelor's preferred.
• Proven experience in managing production operations and workflow optimization.
• Strong proficiency in production planning and scheduling.
• Demonstrated team leadership and ability to drive performance.
• Experience in inventory management and supply chain basics.
• Knowledge of lean methodologies and quality control standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a diverse environment.

Responsibilities

Adept at Process Improvement methodologies, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.

Comprehensive knowledge of Quality Control standards and procedures, ensuring products meet specified requirements and customer expectations.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Fluency in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia is required for effective communication within the diverse workforce and with regional partners.

• Develop, implement, and monitor production plans and schedules, coordinating with various departments (e.g., procurement, logistics, sales) to optimize resource allocation and minimize downtime.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment, and conducting regular performance reviews and training.
• Implement and maintain robust inventory management systems to track raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing waste.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the production floor, identifying bottlenecks, implementing process enhancements, and leveraging lean manufacturing principles to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure strict adherence to all quality control procedures and standards throughout the manufacturing process, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions to maintain product integrity.
• Collaborate with the supply chain team to manage the flow of materials, ensuring timely delivery of raw materials and efficient dispatch of finished goods, while also identifying opportunities for cost savings and supplier optimization.
• Maintain a safe and compliant work environment by adhering to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and by implementing and enforcing safety protocols among the production team.
