Job summary

Private Advertiser in Ipoh, Malaysia is seeking a Production Manager to oversee weekly and monthly production plans, monitor workflow, and coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure materials meet production needs.

You will lead production staff, ensure GMP/HALAL safety standards, analyze capacity to optimize output, conduct stock checks, and support new product trials and QAQC collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Traditional Medicine, Health Supplement, Pharmaceutical or Manufacturing industry with min 3 years as Production Manager.
• Mandarin, Malay, and English required (Mandarin an added advantage).
• Strong knowledge of GMP, HALAL and workplace safety standards.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and strong people management.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly and monthly production plans based on orders and inventory.
• Monitor workflow and adjust schedules to meet deadlines.
• Oversee daily activities of production workers.
• Coordinate with purchaser/store/warehouse to ensure sufficient materials.
• Carry out monthly stock checks and align with production output.
• Responsible for year-end stock count.
• Supervise machine operating parameters and line leadership scope.
• Analyze machine and labor capacity to optimize output and prevent bottlenecks.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs and production processes.
• Work with QA/QC to ensure finished products meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoot daily operations, identify root causes, propose solutions.
• Identify process improvements to enhance quality and productivity.
• Supervise cleaning and tidying of production areas.
• Report and investigate workplace incidents.
• Conduct periodic training to measure appraisal effectiveness.
• Support new product trials or R&D activities.
• Act as communication bridge between shop floor and management.
• All other duties as instructed by Management.

Job description

Prepare weekly/ monthly production plans based on customer orders and inventory

Monitor workflow and adjust schedules to meet deadlines

Oversee the daily activities of production workers

Coordinate with purchaser/ store/ warehouse team to ensure the material ordered are sufficient for smooth production

Ensure that the monthly stock checks for material are carried out and compatible with production output

Responsible for the year-end stock count

Knowledgeable in machine operating parameters and able to perform supervision and line leader job scope at production

Analyze machine and labor capacity to optimize output and prevent bottlenecks

Ensure adherence to production processes and standard operating prosedures (SOP)

Work closely with the QAQC team to ensure finished products meet with quality standard.

To do trouble-shooting and analyze daily operational problem, investigate problem, analyze root cause and propose solutions

Identify areas for improvement in the production processes, develop new and cost-effective ways to improve quality and productivity.

To supervise cleaning and tidying at the production areas

Report and to investigate any workplace incidents

To conduct periodic training to determine appraisal effectiveness

To support new product trials or R&D activities

Act as a communication bridge between shop floor and management

All other duties as instructed by the Management from time to time

Job Requirement:

Bachelor’s Degree /Diploma in the Traditional Medicine/ Health Supplement/ Pharmaceutical/ Manufacturing Industry, with minimum 3 years working experience as a production manager in manufacturing environment (preferably pharmaceutical, cosmetic or food industry)

Required language(s): Mandarin, Malay, English (Mandarin is an added advantage))

Good knowledge in quality management which including GMP, HALAL, safety standards in workplace

Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Handy in people management

Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and interactive skills at various levels

Strong organizational and leadership skills

Knowledge of production planning, lean manufacturing or Kaizen is a plus
