Job summary

SCHOTT in Penang, Malaysia seeks an experienced Plant Manager to provide leadership for production and engineering teams. You will drive KPI achievement, cost efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery while optimizing manpower and equipment across multiple projects.

The role requires a Bachelor degree in Engineering or manufacturing with 10+ years in manufacturing, strong leadership, lean/six sigma expertise, and solid communication skills. ISO compliance and a safety-first mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years related working experience in manufacturing.
• Demonstrated strong leadership in leading and coaching teams.
• Understanding of health and safety, operational management, Lean, SAP, Six Sigma and ISO.
• Excellent communication, numeracy and computer literacy skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and manage a group of production employees including engineering to achieve KPI.
• Collaborate with functional teams to meet production output, cost, quality, on-time delivery and workforce needs.
• Oversee budgets, plans and programs to optimize equipment, space and labor utilization.
• Drive process optimization and reduce manufacturing costs through lean strategies.
• Develop and motivate subordinates through training and coaching.
• Plan to improve work environment and monitor operating results.
