Job summary

Samtec Penang factory in Malaysia is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a team and achieve safety, quality, and on-time delivery targets.

You will own the area’s performance metrics, enforce SOPs and EHS requirements, provide training, and coordinate scheduling, tooling, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ideal candidates have strong data analysis, people leadership, lean and six sigma exposure, and good communication; a Bachelor of Science in Engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage, lead and supervise a team to achieve organizational objectives.
• Own the area/department performance metrics (safety, quality, delivery, cost, etc.).
• Ensure policies, EHS and quality requirements are complied with.
• Provide training and ensure certification for associated roles per SOP/WI.
• Conduct regular 1:1 and team meetings for updates and development.
• Enforce PPE and LOTO for a safe working environment.
• Ensure production aligns with prints to meet industry standards and customer expectations.
• Drive quality improvements to meet OD and PPM targets.
• Contain and investigate quality issues to minimize cost impact and prevent escapes to customers.
• Coordinate OSS scheduling and material readiness to deliver orders on time.
• Work with OSS to manage expedites and date accuracy.
• Manage capacity (staffing, OT, leave) aligned to schedules.
• Control overtime and drive productivity improvements to reduce costs.
• Communicate priorities to technicians and address tooling issues.
• Walk processes to identify bottlenecks and address promptly.
• Monitor metrics and drive continuous improvement.
