Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years in steel fabrication industry.

Job description

Develop production plans based on project timelines and material availability.

Optimize machine and manpower allocation to meet output targets.

Process Control & Optimization

Monitor fabrication processes such as cutting, welding, bending, machining, and assembly.

Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase productivity.

Standardize work procedures and ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

Inspect fabricated steel components for dimensional accuracy, weld quality, and surface finish.

Work closely with QA/QC teams to resolve non-conformities and implement corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and project-specific requirements.

Safety & Risk Management

Enforce workplace safety rules and ensure proper use of PPE.

Conduct risk assessments for fabrication activities involving welding, heavy lifting, and machinery.

Support safety audits and incident investigations.

Technical Support & Problem Solving

Interpret engineering drawings, material specifications, and fabrication details.

Provide technical guidance to welders, fitters, machine operators, and supervisors.

Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate maintenance when needed.

Resource & Material Management

Track material usage, wastage, and inventory levels.

Ensure timely availability of steel plates, beams, consumables, and welding materials.

To source suitable steel materials and consumables.

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare weekly production reports and progress updates.

Maintain records of welding parameters, machine logs, and inspection reports.

Support documentation for audits and client submissions.

Strong understanding of steel fabrication processes (cutting, welding, forming, assembly).

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication standards.

Familiarity with 2D and 3D design drafting software.

Problem-solving mindset and ability to work under tight project deadlines.

Qualification in Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years working experience in steel fabrication industry.
