Job summary

Perniagaan SZIN (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Balakong, Selangor operations. The role focuses on mechanical design, 3D modelling, engineering calculations and fabrication drawings for industrial projects.

You will work on design-and-build and fabrication projects, collaborate with production teams, and support cost estimation and project quotations. A hands-on approach through production and installation is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, steel fabrication, or manufacturing.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes, welding, cutting, machining and assembly.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs and engineering solutions based on customer requirements and project needs.
• Prepare accurate 2D drawings, 3D models, assembly drawings and detailed fabrication drawings using CAD software.
• Perform basic engineering calculations for mechanical components, loading and material selection.
• Prepare BOMs, cutting lists and material specifications for procurement and production.
• Design steel structures and fabricated components (frames, skid bases, platforms, brackets, supports).
• Review customer drawings and identify discrepancies, improvements and fabrication requirements.
• Ensure designs are practical, cost-effective and suitable for manufacturing, welding and installation.
• Coordinate with production supervisors, welders and project teams to resolve issues.
• Support material estimation, technical costing and preparation of quotations.
• Conduct site measurements and discussions with customers when required.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing steel fabrication and manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for mechanical design, 3D modelling, engineering calculations, fabrication drawings and technical support for industrial and structural steel fabrication projects. This position involves both design-and-build projects and fabrication works based on customer-provided drawings.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs and engineering solutions based on customer requirements, technical specifications and project needs.
