Job summary

Local Assembly Sdn Bhd in Gelang Patah, Johor is hiring a Production Engineer to provide hands-on technical support for injection molding operations and to drive production efficiency and quality. You will monitor processes, troubleshoot defects, and support mold and machine setup in a manufacturing environment.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, proven experience in injection molding, and strong problem-solving and communication skills to work with

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Experience in injection molding is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of injection molding processes, mold structures, and process parameters.
• Ability to troubleshoot molding defects and process-related problems.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize injection molding processes and machine parameters.
• Troubleshoot molding defects and production problems.
• Ensure machines and processes operate according to established specifications and standards.
• Support mold setup, machine setup, and process parameter adjustment.
• Provide technical support to production operators and technicians.
• Investigate machine, mold, and process-related issues.
• Identify root causes of production problems and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Maintenance and other relevant departments to resolve technical issues.
• Monitor production output, cycle time, machine utilization, and productivity.
• Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, downtime, and production losses.
• Implement continuous improvement activities to improve production efficiency.
• Work closely with QC to resolve product quality issues and reduce defects.
• Establish and maintain process parameters to ensure consistent product quality.
• Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
• Ensure compliance with work instructions, quality standards, and customer requirements.
• Support new model introduction, trial runs, and process validation.
• Conduct process trials and evaluate results before mass production.
• Prepare and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and technical records.
• Ensure injection molding machines and related equipment are operated safely.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety requirements, and 5S standards.
• Perform other duties assigned by the superior.

Required Experience: Experience in injection molding is required.

1. Job Purpose

To provide technical support and manage production processes, particularly injection molding operations, to ensure

production efficiency, product quality, machine performance, and achievement of production targets.

2. Main Responsibilities

3. Required Qualifications and Skills

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or a related field.

Relevant working experience in injection molding is mandatory.

Strong knowledge of injection molding processes, mold structures, and process parameters.

Experience in troubleshooting molding defects and process-related problems.

Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Able to work independently and provide hands-on technical support in a manufacturing environment.
