Job summary

Dyson seeks a Product Performance Engineer in Malaysia to join the Technology Development department. You will analyze, model and optimize hair drying and styling performance, guiding test plans and design mitigations to meet product targets.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering, 3+ years in product design and development, and strong data analysis skills (Minitab, MATLAB, Excel) with CAD/CAE tooling experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
Ideally 3+ years’ experience in product design and development.
Strong working knowledge of engineering fundamentals, measurement analysis and statistical analysis.
Competency in Minitab, MATLAB or Excel or other data acquisition/processing tool.
Some competencies in CAD/CAE tools in general is preferred.

Responsibilities

Identify the fundamental factors that contribute to the desired performance metric.
Utilize appropriate modelling tools to make optimization / or predictions.
Analyze and make recommendations from experimental tests / analytical assessments with high technical rigor.
Design tests and test plans to identify and optimize performance while staying true to customer experience.
Write scripts / Excel / Minitab analyses to create predictive models for performance and provide clear recommendations.
Propose design mitigations and recommendations to achieve performance targets.
Collaborate with a project team to deliver optimized hair style and drying performance in line with product vision.
