Job summary

Kobay Technology Bhd. in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a Purchasing Executive to manage daily purchasing activities—from requisitions to PO processing and delivery follow-up—ensuring timely procurement of materials.

You will review requests, coordinate with suppliers, and maintain precise purchasing records. The role collaborates with Production, Planning, Warehouse, Quality, and Engineering to support production needs, while contributing to cost savings through price comparisons and negotiations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in purchasing, supply chain management, business administration, or related field.
• Minimum 1–5 years of experience in purchasing/procurement, preferably in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of raw materials, components, and supplier qualification processes.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently with good problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
• Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage for supplier and customer communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily purchasing activities including requisitions, PO processing, order confirmation, and delivery follow-up.
• Review purchase requests and ensure timely procurement of materials according to operational requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers on POs, delivery schedules, pricing, quality issues, and payment terms.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve purchasing-related issues.
• Process and maintain accurate purchasing documentation including quotations, POs, delivery records, and invoices.
• Monitor supplier performance in terms of delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
• Coordinate with Production, Planning, Warehouse, Quality, and Engineering to support production requirements.
• Assist in price comparison and negotiation activities to achieve cost effectiveness.
• Maintain updated supplier information and purchasing records in the system.
