Job summary

Oriental Coffee International in Bandar Puteri Puchong is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to lead purchasing and supplier management in a fast-paced F&B environment. The role requires detail orientation, cost awareness and a proactive approach to sourcing and negotiations.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of procurement experience, fluency in English and Mandarin, and be able to travel to suppliers locally and internationally. Own transport is preferred for on-site operations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in supply chain, business, procurement or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years' purchasing or procurement experience, ideally in F&B.
• Fluent in English; Mandarin reading/writing strongly preferred; Bahasa Melayu beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop procurement strategies for raw materials, packaging, equipment and services to support company objectives.
• Plan and execute end-to-end purchasing activities – from requisition, sourcing, quotation comparison, negotiation, PO issuance to delivery follow-up.
• Identify and qualify new suppliers locally and internationally to ensure quality, competitive pricing and supply continuity.
• Negotiate contracts and long-term agreements with key vendors to secure favourable terms, rebates and service levels.
• Monitor supplier performance (quality, cost, delivery) and implement corrective actions or alternate sourcing when necessary.
• Coordinate with internal departments (operations, production, finance, warehouse) to understand requirements and ensure timely supply.
• Manage and optimise inventory levels to avoid overstock or stock-outs; support demand forecasting.
• Prepare and analyse procurement reports, cost-saving initiatives and market trend updates for management.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, audit requirements and relevant regulations.
• Mentor and guide junior procurement staff; participate in setting departmental SOPs and continuous improvement projects.
• Perform other ad hoc tasks as required by the management from time to time.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Procurement or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in F&B.
• Strong negotiation, communication and analytical skills.
• Strong computer skills required, to include Microsoft Office Suite, SQL, Excel, MS Access.
• Familiar with sourcing, vendor management and procurement systems.
• Able to work independently, under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Fluent in English, Mandarin (must be able to speak, read and write) and Bahasa Melayu. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking supplier.
• Applicants must possess own transport and willing to work at Bandar Puteri Puchong areas.
