Job summary

Armstrong Technology Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Procurement Manager for our manufacturing operations in Malaysia. The role leads day-to-day sourcing and purchasing for assigned categories and coaches a procurement team to ensure continuous production supply and cost reductions.

You will report to the Regional Manager, Procurement and drive supplier performance, risk management and process improvements across the procurement function.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement or related field.
• Five+ years of progressive procurement experience, including two years leading a team in manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with direct materials, supplier negotiation, purchase orders and delivery follow up.
• Strong Excel and ERP or procurement system skills, sound commercial judgement and clear communication.
• Experience with plastics, rubber, foam or contract manufacturing is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage sourcing and purchasing of materials, equipment and services within delegated authority.
• Review requisitions and quotations; approve POs and negotiate supplier terms.
• Monitor prices, spend and savings opportunities; support alternative sourcing for critical items.
• Resolve shortages, quality concerns, delivery delays and invoice discrepancies with suppliers and internal teams.
• Support supplier selection, onboarding, qualification, performance reviews and audits.
• Coach procurement team members, allocate work and review performance; improve reports and procedures.
• Support the Regional Manager, Procurement with planning, risk management and improvement projects.

Procurement Manager, Manufacturing Industry

Lead day to day sourcing and purchasing for assigned categories and coach a procurement team. You will report to the Regional Manager, Procurement and help keep production supplied while improving cost, supplier performance and supply resilience.

Key responsibilities

Manage sourcing and purchasing of assigned materials, equipment and services within delegated authority.

Review requisitions and quotations, approve or process purchase orders as authorised, and negotiate supplier terms.

Monitor prices, spend and savings opportunities; support alternative sourcing for critical items.

Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve shortages, quality concerns, delivery delays and invoice discrepancies.

Support supplier selection, onboarding, qualification, performance reviews and audits.

Coach procurement team members, allocate work and review performance; improve reports, records and procedures.

Support the Regional Manager, Procurement with planning, risk management and improvement projects.

About you

Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement or a related field.

At least five years of progressive procurement, purchasing or sourcing experience, including two years leading or supervising a team in manufacturing.

Hands on experience with direct materials, supplier negotiation, purchase orders and delivery follow up.

Strong Excel and ERP or procurement system skills, sound commercial judgement and clear communication.

Experience with plastics, rubber, foam or contract manufacturing is an advantage.
