Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced procurement leader to oversee construction materials, M&E items, machinery and subcontractor services aligned with project requirements.

You will plan and monitor procurement, manage long-lead items, review requisitions and POs for accuracy and compliance, and drive supplier evaluation and negotiation to achieve cost savings and reliable delivery. This role collaborates across Project, QS, Engineering and Contracts teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in a related field such as Business Admin, Supply Chain, or Construction Management.
• Minimum 5 years purchasing/procurement experience in construction or project-based environments.
• Hands-on experience with requisitions, POs, quotations, supplier evaluation, negotiation and delivery coordination.
• Familiarity with construction materials, equipment and project specs is an advantage.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP/procurement systems; SQL awareness is a plus.
• Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee procurement of construction materials, M&E items, machinery and services per project plans.
• Plan and monitor procurement activities, including long-lead items for on-time delivery.
• Review requisitions, quotations and POs for accuracy, competitiveness and compliance.
• Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors; lead negotiations on terms and pricing.
• Support tenders with drawings, specs, BOMs and commercial information coordination.
• Coordinate with project teams on requirements and delivery schedules.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve cost, quality, delivery issues; maintain relationships.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with SOPs, ISO/QESH and regulations; report risks.
• Prepare procurement updates and suggest cost-saving and improvement opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
