Job summary

Nastah Industries Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking a seasoned Procurement Manager to lead sourcing, supplier relations, and cost optimization. You will manage daily purchasing, ensure quality and on-time delivery, and drive continuous improvements across procurement processes.

You will mentor the team, collaborate with manufacturing and logistics, and ensure compliance with policies and sustainability standards to support production efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; CPSM, CSCP certifications are a plus.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of procurement principles, inventory management, and vendor negotiation.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies to identify reliable suppliers and negotiate favorable terms.
• Oversee daily purchasing activities to ensure items meet standards and are delivered on time in correct quantities.
• Track and report key metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and warehouse teams to forecast demand and minimize stockouts or overstock.
• Coach and mentor the procurement team, promoting skill development and continuous improvement.

Job description

The Procurement Manager oversees the company’s purchasing activities, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring cost-effective procurement strategies align with business goals. This role is responsible for sourcing quality materials, negotiating favorable terms, and maintaining optimal inventory levels. The Procurement Manager plays a critical role in supporting production and operational efficiency, while ensuring compliance with company policies and sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement sourcing strategies to identify reliable suppliers and negotiate favorable terms.

Negotiate favorable terms, and manage vendor performance to ensure high-quality goods and timely delivery.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers for long-term partnerships.

Manage Purchasing Operations

Oversee daily purchasing activities to ensure all items meet required standards, specifications, and are delivered on time in the correct quantities.

Track and report key functional metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency.

Continuously enhance purchasing systems and processes to support the company’s strategic goals.

Cost Optimization & Budget Compliance

Analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure procurement activities align with budgetary goals.

Inventory Management & Demand Forecasting

Collaborate with manufacturing and warehouse teams to forecast demand

minimize stockouts or overstock situations

Other Responsibilities

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical procurement standards.

Conduct risk assessments to mitigate supply chain risks.
