Job summary

Premium Vegetable Oils is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead the end-to-end procurement function in Pasir Gudang. The role encompasses managing purchasing activities, developing sourcing strategies and strengthening supplier capabilities to support our manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in procurement, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing setting, and proven ability to drive cost savings and governance across procurement

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Procurement Manager to lead our procurement function in Pasir Gudang.

This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for the end-to-end procurement of goods, materials, equipment, services and CAPEX requirements supporting our manufacturing operations.

Beyond managing purchasing activities, we are looking for someone who can strengthen our sourcing capabilities, challenge the way we buy, identify cost and market opportunities, develop a competitive supplier base and build a strong, well-governed procurement function.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the end-to-end procurement function and Procurement/Purchasing team.
• Develop and execute sourcing and category strategies across key spend areas.
• Lead supplier sourcing, evaluation, competitive quotations and tender exercises.
• Drive commercial negotiations covering pricing, payment terms, delivery terms and contractual conditions.
• Identify and deliver cost optimization and value-creation opportunities through strategic sourcing, market benchmarking, alternative sourcing and spend consolidation.
• Build and maintain a strong and competitive supplier base while reducing supply dependency and managing procurement risks.
• Establish and monitor supplier performance across quality, delivery, service and commercial requirements.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure procurement requirements are delivered effectively.
• Monitor market trends, pricing movements and supply risks and provide commercial insights to Management.
• Ensure strong procurement governance, including competitive sourcing, approvals, Delegation of Authority , documentation and audit readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement through better processes, systems, data and procurement practices.
• Lead, coach and develop the Procurement team, building a proactive, commercially minded and high-integrity culture.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of procurement/purchasing experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial or team leadership role.
• Strong procurement experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Proven experience in strategic sourcing, tendering, supplier evaluation and commercial negotiation.
• Experience managing a broad procurement portfolio including materials, equipment, services, CAPEX and indirect purchases.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver cost savings, alternative sourcing and supplier development initiatives.
• Good understanding of procurement governance, internal controls and audit requirements.
• Experience with ERP or procurement systems and using data to support commercial decisions.
• CIPS or other relevant professional certification would be an added advantage.
