Job summary

NBS CASH & CARRY SDN BHD in Kulai, Johor is seeking a Procurement Assistant Manager to develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with business goals. You will lead supplier collaboration to ensure quality, cost-effective terms and reliable delivery.

Work with Sales, Operations and Warehouse to forecast purchasing needs, monitor inventory and drive continuous improvement through SOPs, audits and KPI-driven leadership of the procurement team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company’s business objectives.
• Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best quality, pricing and delivery terms.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with local and overseas suppliers.
• Monitor daily purchasing activities to ensure uninterrupted product availability.
• Analyse market trends, seasonal supply, pricing fluctuations and demand forecasts.
• Work closely with Sales, Operations and Warehouse teams to forecast purchasing requirements and inventory levels.
• Monitor stock turnover and minimise wastage, spoilage and overstock situations.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining product quality standards.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, service level and delivery reliability.
• Lead supplier audits, performance reviews and contract negotiations.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and food safety standards.
• Prepare procurement reports, purchasing analysis, supplier performance reports and management presentations.
• Develop procurement SOPs and continuously improve purchasing processes.
• Lead, coach and develop the procurement team to achieve departmental KPIs.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Management.
