As a Procurement / Purchasing Executive, you will take ownership of purchase planning, supplier management and purchasing activities. You will develop and maintain purchase plans based on inventory levels, sales requirements, incoming materials, consumption trends and supplier lead times, while monitoring Long-Term Agreements, Purchase Orders and supplier performance.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain purchase plans based on inventory levels, sales requirements, incoming materials, consumption trends and supplier lead times
- Monitor Long-Term Agreements (LTA), including committed quantities, ordered quantities, outstanding balances and validity periods
- Monitor all Purchase Orders (PO) closely, including outstanding quantities, production status, ex-mill dates, shipment schedules and expected arrival dates
- Identify upcoming material requirements and plan when and how much to purchase to minimise stock shortages and excessive inventory
- Source, evaluate and communicate with local and overseas suppliers
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times and other commercial terms with suppliers
- Coordinate closely with Sales, Warehouse, Logistics and Finance on purchasing requirements, incoming materials and delivery schedules
- Monitor supplier performance in terms of delivery, quality, pricing and responsiveness
- Proactively highlight potential supply shortages, delivery delays, LTA expiry and purchasing risks to Management
- Prepare regular purchasing, LTA and outstanding PO reports for Management review
About you
- Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, Logistics or related discipline
- Preferably 2-5 years of relevant Purchasing / Procurement / Supply Planning experience
- Strong planning, analytical and follow-up skills
- Able to analyse inventory, incoming orders and purchasing requirements
- Good Microsoft Excel skills and comfortable working with data and reports
- Experience dealing with overseas suppliers and long lead-time materials is an added advantage
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial materials, metals or engineering-related industries will be advantageous
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Proactive, organised, detail-oriented and able to work independently
