Job summary

TMI Container Line Sdn Bhd, based in Klang, Selangor, is hiring a Procurement Executive on a full-time basis to source, negotiate and manage materials, services and equipment for our manufacturing and transport operations.

This role emphasizes cost-effective procurement, adherence to quality standards, and collaboration with operations, finance and logistics to ensure timely delivery and optimal value. Diploma or degree in a related field and 2–3 years' experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Business or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing or inventory management in manufacturing, transport or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management and contract negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality of goods and services.
• Preparing purchase requisitions and processing purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Negotiating contract terms, pricing, delivery schedules and payment conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal value.
• Maintaining supplier databases and managing supplier relationships to ensure consistent performance and reliability.
• Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with relevant departments to ensure adequate stock availability without excess.
• Conducting market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, new suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.
• Reviewing invoices, verifying receipts against purchase orders and resolving discrepancies with suppliers and internal teams.
• Preparing procurement reports and performance metrics to track spending, supplier performance and procurement efficiency.
• Ensuring compliance with company procurement policies, ethical standards and relevant regulations.
• Communicating and collaborating with operations, finance and logistics teams to understand procurement requirements and deliver timely solutions.

About the role

TMI Container Line Sdn Bhd is seeking a Procurement Executive to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. This role is based in Klang District, Selangor, positioning you at the heart of our logistics and container operations. As a Procurement Executive, you will play a critical role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of materials, services, and equipment that are essential to our manufacturing and transport operations. This position is instrumental in ensuring cost-effective procurement whilst maintaining quality standards and supporting the strategic objectives of TMI Container Line Sdn Bhd.

Key responsibilities

What we’re looking for

• Diploma or degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing or inventory management within the manufacturing, transport or logistics sector
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management and contract negotiation
• Proficiency in procurement software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Analytical mindset with the ability to assess supplier proposals and make data-driven procurement decisions
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping
• Familiarity with container, logistics or shipping industry requirements would be advantageous
• Knowledge of trade compliance, shipping regulations and import/export procedures is preferred
