Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a procurement professional to manage vendor quotations, purchase orders and supplier relations in a export-oriented manufacturing setting.

You will ensure compliance with Malaysia customs, MITI matters, and maintain accurate purchasing records while coordinating with suppliers and forwarders.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years' relevant experience, with strong MS Office skills and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or related field is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant procurement/purchasing experience in export-oriented manufacturing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate vendor quotations based on product requirements.
• Evaluate supplier performance and quality standards.
• Prepare purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
• Liaise with suppliers to resolve issues such as quality or quantity discrepancies.
• Update purchasing records, data and pricing into the system.
• Understand Malaysia customs act and attend to customs and MITI matters.
• Liaise with forwarders for import/export documentation and delivery.
• Check and verify documents to ensure legal compliance.
• Seek freight quotations and recommend competitive forwarders or carriers.
• Undertake other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Source for vendors, request for quotations and make recommendations to operation department

Evaluate vendor’s quotation based on products requirements

Evaluate supplier’s performance and quality standard

Prepare purchase requisition and purchase orders

Liaise with suppliers to resolve issues such as quality or quantity discrepancies

Update purchasing records, data, and pricing into the system

Undertake other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Understand of Malaysia custom act and able to attend to custom and MITI matters, eg. duty, sales tax, HS code, Duty exemption, application of Certificate Of Origin , Import License, LMW, PCA & others.

Liaise with supplier on delivery schedule

Liaise with forwarder permit and delivery, for both import and export

Liaise with forwarder on documentation

Check and verify documents to ensure legal compliance

Seek freight quotations and make recommendations on competitive forwarder or agent, carrier and insurer for shipment

Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field may be required

Preferred working experience in procurement or purchasing field.

Minimum 3 years above relevant working experience in an export oriented manufacturing environment.

Well verse in Microsoft Office (word, excel and power point).

Good teamwork skill, communication skills, adaptability, good organization and planning skill
