Job summary

PEM Fasteners is seeking a procurement professional in Negeri Sembilan to manage material calculation, PO issuance, and supplier negotiations to secure the best terms.

You will monitor supplier performance, ensure on-time deliveries, and coordinate with production, warehouse and quality teams to meet specifications and lead times. A purchasing background with 5 years is preferred.

Qualifications

• Candidate should have a background in purchasing with 5 years' experience.
• Knowledge of SST and duty exemption matters is a plus.
• Exposure to LMW, Tax Exemptions, MIDA and Custom Department related matters helpful.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for material calculation and issuance of Purchase Orders with correct quantity and price within set lead time upon receiving the purchase request.
• Negotiate with supplier for optimum cost, lead time, minimum order quantity and payment terms.
• Monitor supplier product quality and delivery performance, ensuring on time delivery goods and supply meeting specification required.
• Conduct supplier improvement activities for cost reduction, quality and delivery performance improvement.
• Sourcing for new suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and to overcome shortages and quality issues.
• To be in charge of SST and duty exemption matters.
• Prepare documentation compliance with custom regulations.
• Liaise with all parties including suppliers, production, warehouse to ensure goods purchase, quality, storage, delivery lead time are met.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, specification and standards.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of materials and their applications.
• Awareness of quality control and industry standards.
• Ability to identify, evaluate and qualify suppliers.
• Understanding of total cost of ownership in supplier selection.
• Ability to perform cost breakdown analysis and should-cost modelling.
• Skills in benchmarking supplier pricing and cost reduction strategies.
• Ability to analyze purchasing data, trends and supplier performance.
• Proficiency in Excel, Power BI or other data analysis skill.
• To undertake any ad-hoc tasks as and when required.

Requirements

Candidate must possess at least a Post-Graduate Diploma / Bachelor's Degree / Professional Degree in Business Studies/Administration/Management or equivalent.

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Required Language(s): Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia and English. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Exposure in LMW, Tax Exemptions, MIDA and Custom Department related matters

Self-motivated, result driven, independent and good in problem solving.

Preferably specialized in Purchasing with 5 years' experience.
