Job summary

GP BATTERIES (M) SDN BHD is seeking a Process Improvement Engineering (PIE) Manager to lead continuous improvement across the plant. You will study machine setups, layout new projects, and conduct cycle time and process flow studies to drive efficiency.

The role emphasizes OEE improvements, quality control, and proactive problem solving with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in manufacturing, a strong analytical mindset, and fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Study new machine setup projects and plan plant layouts.
• Perform cycle time and process flow studies to improve efficiency.
• Improve OEE and address bottlenecks; reduce NVA and quality issues.
• Develop design and fabrication standards for new machines; establish control plans.
• Initiate problem solving, troubleshoot production issues and improve yield and quality.

Job description

Process Improvement Engineering (PIE) Manager

Study of new machine setup project and prepare for new plant project layout, Perform cycle time study, Process flow study, Machine trouble shooting, establish targeted output and quality level.

Figure out how to manufacture parts or products, or deliver services, with maximum efficiency.

Improve OEE at each machines and process by using TAKT time.

Enact quality control procedures to improve production process capability.

Work with supplier and management to develop standards for design and fabrication of new machines.

Design control plan to coordinate activities and production planning to ensure that products meet quality standards.

Initiate problem solving and troubleshooting process and reduce process and production related problems.

Identify the bottleneck of machines or process and work with respective department for improvement.

Review the work and information flow to get rid of the NVA from time to time.

Perform trouble shooting or conduct study to achieve the quality objective. Make the recommendation on how to improve the yield and quality level.

Any other task assigned by superior from time to time.

Requirement

Candidate must possess at least Master/Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Engineering or equivalent.

At least 8 - 10 years of working experience in manufacturing field.

Technically competent with good analytical skills, result oriented, proactive, resourceful with a high degree of independence and perseverance.

Fluent speaking and writing in English & Bahasa Malaysia.
