Job summary

GP Batteries (M) Sdn Bhd, a manufacturing subsidiary of GP Batteries International, is seeking a qualified chemist/material scientist to support quality improvements. The role involves preparing samples, testing methods, and evaluating changes in materials or production processes.

You will collaborate with technical personnel, investigate defects, develop new materials and testing methods, and establish material specifications/MSDS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Electro Chemistry, Engineering or Material Science.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing.
• Technically competent with good analytical skills, result oriented, proactive, resourceful with a high degree of independence and perseverance.
• Experience in Electrochemistry or Battery/Energy is an advantage.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sample products and evaluate testing methods to improve quality.
• Evaluate changes in materials or processes on a trial basis for quality impact.
• Support Department Head with guidance on technical issues and to set standards on production processes and product.
• Investigate abnormalities or defects in product and processes and study/corrective actions.

Job description

To preparation of sample products and subsequent testing of such samples evaluate methods of improving quality.

Evaluate the effect of changes in material or production process on a trial basis and determine whether such changes results in quality improvements on all performance aspects.

To support Department Head to coordinate with the technical personnel in their project, guidance on technical issues and to set standards on production processes and product.

Investigate abnormalities or defects in product and processes and study / identify the appropriate corrective actions required.

Develop new material, new testing method and design with counter part or supplier.

Responsible in establishing / revising of Material Specification / MSDS for raw materials / parts use for product.

Requirement

Candidate must possess at least Master/Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Electro Chemistry, Engineering, Material Science or equivalent.

At least 3 Year(s) of working experience in manufacturing field.

Technically competent with good analytical skills, result oriented, proactive, resourceful with a high degree of independence and perseverance.

Have experience in Electrochemistry, Battery / Energy related is an advantage

Fluent speaking and writing in English & Bahasa Malaysia.

Able to work immediately is an advantage.
