Job summary

Tenpower Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to optimize production, analyze data, and lead continuous improvement initiatives ensuring high yield and product quality.

The role involves close collaboration with Production, Quality, Equipment, Maintenance, R&D, and Industrial Engineering teams to meet aggressive targets. Responsibilities include root cause analysis using 8D/Fishbone/5 Why/DOE/SPC, supporting NPI and ramp-up, and developing SOPs, PFMEA, and work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Materials, or equivalent).
  • 2-5+ years of experience in manufacturing process engineering, preferably in battery, semiconductor, electronics, automotive, or precision manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge in process optimization, statistical analysis, SPC, DOE, FMEA, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Familiarity with lithium-ion battery manufacturing is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a data-driven mindset.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize manufacturing process to ensure stable production performance, high yield, and product quality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues involving process defects, alignment, wrinkles, telescoping and cell quality concerns.
  • Analyze process data and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve OEE, cycle time, scrap reduction, and process capability.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Equipment, Maintenance, R&D, and Industrial Engineering to achieve operational targets.
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, DOE, SPC).
  • Support new product introduction (NPI), process validation, and mass production ramp-up activities.
  • Develop and maintain process parameters, SOPs, control plans, PFMEA, and work instructions.
  • Monitor critical process indicators and establish robust process controls to maintain product consistency.
  • Support equipment qualification, troubleshooting, and process tuning for winding machines.
  • Participate in yield improvement and cost reduction projects.
