Job summary

Malaysian Sheet Glass Sdn Bhd is seeking a talented Process Engineer to join our engineering team on a full-time basis at our Sungai Buloh facility. The role focuses on optimising manufacturing processes to ensure product quality, efficiency and safety.

You will drive continuous improvement, develop SOPs, support capital projects, and coordinate with maintenance and production teams to uphold HSE standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1–5 years of experience in process engineering or manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of glass production or heavy industrial environments.
  • Proficiency in process modelling, optimisation techniques, and data analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience with engineering software and process simulation tools.
  • Familiarity with health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and optimise manufacturing processes to ensure peak efficiency with quality standards.
  • Conduct process analysis and troubleshooting to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to boost productivity and reduce costs.
  • Prepare detailed process documentation, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure adherence to process specs and safety.
  • Perform root cause analysis on quality issues and production failures with corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with maintenance for preventative upkeep and equipment reviews.
  • Monitor process parameters, analyze data, and report on KPIs.
  • Support capital projects and new equipment installations and commissioning.
  • Maintain compliance with HSE regulations and company policies.

Malaysian Sheet Glass Sdn Bhd is seeking a talented Process Engineer to join our engineering team on a full-time basis at our manufacturing facility in Sungai Buloh, Selangor. This is a key position within our operations, responsible for optimising and maintaining our manufacturing processes to ensure consistent product quality, efficiency, and safety. As a Process Engineer, you will play a vital role in driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting our commitment to operational excellence in the glass manufacturing industry.

Key responsibilities

Monitor and optimise manufacturing processes to ensure they operate at peak efficiency whilst maintaining strict quality standards

Conduct process analysis and troubleshooting to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement

Develop and implement process improvements and modifications to enhance productivity and reduce costs

Prepare detailed process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions

Collaborate with production teams to ensure adherence to process specifications and safety protocols

Perform root cause analysis on quality issues and production failures, implementing corrective actions

Conduct regular equipment maintenance reviews and coordinate with maintenance teams for preventative upkeep

Monitor and manage process parameters, conducting data analysis and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs)

Support capital projects and new equipment installations, ensuring smooth commissioning and integration

Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies

What we’re looking for

Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline

Minimum 1–5 years of professional experience in process engineering or manufacturing operations

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly in glass production or similar heavy industrial environments

Proficiency in process modelling, optimisation techniques, and data analysis

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex technical challenges

Competency in using engineering software, process simulation tools, and Microsoft Office applications

Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and regulations

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety

Proactive approach to continuous improvement and innovation in manufacturing processes

Experience with Lean Six Sigma or similar improvement methodologies is advantageous

Knowledge of glass manufacturing processes or experience in capital-intensive industries is highly desirable
