Job summary

Swiss Profile (M) Sdn Bhd in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Project Coordinator to provide daily leadership in process development and organize all NPIs, from simple activities to complex plans, ensuring robust processes and on-time, high-quality project delivery.

You will define manufacturing processes for new products, coordinate resources and information, supervise tool designers, document progress, and communicate status to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing environment.
• Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and computer tools such as AutoCAD, MS Office and ERP.

Responsibilities

• Propose conceptual tool design for costing and quotation purpose.
• Define manufacturing processes for all new products, design and test tools.
• Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information.
• Break projects into doable actions and define requirements, scope and objectives.
• Liaise with clients to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives.
• Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise.
• Work with the Project Manager to eliminate blockers.
• Trouble shoot production issues and follow up on actions.
• Supervise and train Tool Designers working under him/her.
• Document and maintain proper records of all process developments for all products.
• Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants.

Job description

Provide daily leadership in process development and organize all type of projects related to products (NPI), from simple activities to more complex plans. Ensure that all processes are robust and all projects are completed on time and meet high quality standards.

Responsibilities & Authority:

a) Key Responsibilities

• Propose conceptual tool design for costing and quotation purpose.
• Define manufacturing processes for all new products, design and test tools.
• Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information
• Break projects into doable actions and define requirements, scope and objectives
• Liaise with clients to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives
• Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise
• Work with the Project Manager to eliminate blockers
• Trouble shoot production issues and follow up on actions.

b) Other Responsibilities

• Supervise and train Tool Designers working under him/her
• Document and maintain proper records of all process developments for all products
• Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants

Authorities

The Project coordinator has the authority in all matters related to process development and project organization. He/She is empowered to decide on the Tool manufacturing schedule (planning for Tooling Department), validation of design and processes to be adopted for any products (for costing and/or actual production). He/She can revise or override processes on active Job Sheet or Work Procedure subject to in-process quality or findings.

Job Requirements

Degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Solid organizational skill, including multitasking and computer tools (AutoCad, MS Office and ERP)

Ability to perform under pressure with minimum resources and short lead time.

Mature, self motivated and resourceful.

Excellent communication skills and time management

Ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans.
