Job summary

Global Process Systems is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead engineering activities for static and packaged equipment across FEED, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning phases. You will ensure compliance with ASME, API, TEMA, NACE, ISO and ADNOC standards and provide technical leadership to the mechanical team.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; Registered Professional Engineer or eligibility in Malaysia; minimum 15 years

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized university.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or eligibility for registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia is an advantage.
  • Minimum 15 years of mechanical engineering experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, LNG, or Energy industries.
  • Minimum 5 years in a Lead or Principal Mechanical Engineer role on EPC projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in FEED, Detailed Engineering, Procurement Support, Construction Support, and Commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering activities for static equipment including pressure vessels, heat exchangers including air cooled heat exchangers, storage tanks, columns, reactors, separators, filters, fired heaters and associated mechanical systems.
  • Lead engineering activities for packaged equipment including utility packages, chemical injection packages, nitrogen generation units and other vendor packages.
  • Review and approve equipment datasheets, specifications, calculations and engineering deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with ASME, API, TEMA, NACE, ISO, ADNOC and project-specific requirements.
  • Provide technical support during FEED, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning phases
  • Both onshore and offshore project experience preferred.
  • Experience in rotating equipment is expected.
  • Prepare technical requisitions and bid evaluations.
  • Review vendor documents and drawings.
  • Resolve technical queries with suppliers and clients.
  • Participate in FAT, inspection and performance testing.
  • Coordinate with Process, Piping, Civil, Structural, Electrical and Instrument disciplines.
  • Support procurement, construction and commissioning teams.
  • Manage engineering schedule, resource allocation and budget.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures.

Job description

Role Purpose:

To lead and manage the engineering, design, procurement support, vendor coordination, and technical assurance activities for static equipment and packaged equipment throughout all phases of the projects. Ensure engineering deliverables comply with project specifications, international codes and standards, client requirements, and company quality procedures while providing technical leadership to the mechanical engineering team.

Knowledge Required:
  • ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
  • API Standards (510, 650, 660, 661, 620, 579 as applicable)
  • TEMA Standards
  • NACE / AMPP Standards
  • ISO Standards
  • IEC and other applicable international standards
  • Malaysian regulatory requirements where applicable (e.g., Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) requirements for pressure equipment)
  • Client engineering standards (ADNOC onshore / offshore specifications, PETRONAS Technical Standards, Shell DEP, ExxonMobil GP, etc., depending on project assignment)
Experience Required:
