Job summary

Vantris Energy Berhad is seeking an experienced Lead Process Engineer to lead and manage process engineering activities across major Oil & Gas projects in Malaysia. The role focuses on overseeing design deliverables, ensuring technical quality, and guiding teams to meet project requirements and industry standards.

The successful candidate will mentor engineers, engage with clients and stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement in safety and engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
• Professional Engineer (PE) / Practising Certificate will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Process Engineering activities across multiple projects.
• Review and approve key engineering deliverables (calculations, reports, data sheets, drawings).
• Ensure deliverables meet quality, technical, and schedule requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to Process Engineers and project teams.
• Plan and allocate engineering resources to support project and business requirements.
• Lead vendor data review and coordination to support timely execution.
• Coach and mentor Senior/Lead Engineers; support capability development.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Process Engineer to lead and manage Process Engineering activities across major Oil & Gas projects. The role is responsible for overseeing engineering design deliverables, ensuring technical quality, managing team resources, supporting project execution, and driving continuous improvement within the Process Engineering function.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, mentor engineering teams, engage with clients and stakeholders, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Process Engineering Leadership

• Lead and manage Process Engineering activities across multiple projects.
• Review and approve key engineering deliverables, including calculations, reports, data sheets, specifications, and drawings.
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet project quality, technical, and schedule requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to Process Engineers and project teams.

Project Delivery & Technical Assurance

• Plan and allocate engineering resources to support project and business requirements.
• Support engineering design development, interface management, technical reviews, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Lead vendor data review and incorporation activities to support timely project execution.
• Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and project meetings with clients, contractors, consultants, and vendors.

Team Development & People Management

• Coach and mentor Senior Engineers and Lead Engineers.
• Support capability development and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
• Participate in recruitment activities and manpower planning to support department growth.
• Foster a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset within the team.

Engineering Governance & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, company procedures, and quality management systems.
• Support bidding and proposal activities by providing accurate technical inputs and engineering evaluations.
• Manage outsourced engineering activities and engineering consultants to ensure quality, cost, and schedule objectives are achieved.
• Identify and implement initiatives to improve engineering efficiency and project delivery performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
• Professional Engineer (PE) / Practising Certificate will be an added advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 15 years of engineering design experience in offshore and onshore Oil & Gas facilities.
• At least 7 years of experience in a Manager, Team Lead, or Engineering Leadership role.
• Experience in EPIC, EPCC, PCC, or PC projects will be an added advantage.
