Job summary

Jora Malaysia seeks a Presales Technical Solutions Engineer focused on drones, robotics, and Robotics-as-a-Service. The role emphasizes translating technical capability into business value, drafting compelling proposals, and leading end-to-end solution design for client sites.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in engineering/CS/IT and 3–5 years in solutions engineering or pre-sales, with strong IT/networking and a willingness to travel for assessments and scoping.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in solutions engineering, pre-sales, technical sales, or systems integration in robotics/drones/IoT/automation.
• Solid grasp of IT and networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, Wi-Fi/cellular, VPN, cloud/server basics, API integration.
• Understanding of software architecture: cloud vs. on-premise, command-and-control platforms, digital twins, system integration.
• Proven ability to translate technical capability into commercial value with strong presentation and client-facing communication skills.
• Ability to prepare technical documentation, case studies, and solution collateral.
• Exposure to survey/mapping concepts (GNSS/GPS, GCPs) or regulated industries like oil and gas is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to client sites for assessments and solution scoping.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical engagement with clients - be the primary technical contact throughout discovery calls and site assessments.
• Translate technical capability into commercial value for drone dock, robotics, and RaaS solutions.
• Own end-to-end solution design, architect hardware/software/connectivity, and validate feasibility with engineering.
• Drive proposal quality with bills of materials and scopes of work for regulated industries.
• Advise on IT and infrastructure integration including cloud vs. on-premise, networks, APIs, and digital twin setup.
• Build internal capability with playbooks, FAQs, and training materials for the sales team.
• Support field engagements by traveling to client sites for assessments and scoping.
