Job summary

Lam Research in Batu Kawan, Penang, Malaysia, is seeking an Assembler to perform electronic, electron-mechanical, and mechanical assembly on wafer fabrication equipment in a lean, clean-room environment.

You will read schematics, use hand tools and fixtures, and install parts to tight tolerances using computer-based instructions. Fresh grads are welcome; Associates degree in engineering preferred. 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced setting are required.

Qualifications

• 2-6 years of mechanical or related assembly experience.
• Fresh grads are welcome to apply.
• Associate degree, technical certificate, or diploma in Engineering or related field.
• Effective communication skills, written and verbal in English.
• Able to work 12-hour shifts in fast paced and time-sensitive environment.
• Proficiency in computer-based data systems, applications, and Microsoft Office software.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and standing to perform tasks.
• Able to distinguish wires by color, size, and markings.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install parts/hardware for wafer fabrication equipment (WFE) using instructions, schematics, hands tools, equipment and fixtures.
• Adapt to changing priorities and rework to maintain workflow and schedules.
• Perform visual inspections and verify parts before installation.
• Contribute to audits by conducting visual inspections, checking checklists, and performing leak checks as needed.
• Cross-train in multiple work centers and support continuous improvement behaviors.
• Provide training to other assemblers on specific job functions.
• Identify and document Non-Conformance Items and escalate to engineering as needed.
• Support a safe work environment by following safety guidelines and using PPE.
• Communicate production status and tasks clearly to stakeholders.
