Job summary

Lam Research in Penang seeks an assembler to join a lean, clean-room environment for assembling electronic, electron-mechanical, and mechanical components on wafer fabrication equipment (WFE). You will follow instructions, use hand tools, and ensure precise setup and inspection to meet strict tolerances.

The role requires 2–6 years in mechanical assembly, an engineering-related diploma or higher, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• 2-6 years of mechanical or related assembly experience.
• Fresh grads are welcome to apply.
• Associates Degree, Technical Certificate, or Diploma in Engineering or related field.
• Effective communication skills, written and verbal in English.
• Able to work 12-hour shifts in fast paced and time-sensitive environment.
• Proficiency in computer-based data systems, applications, and Microsoft Office software.
• Frequently position oneself to perform job tasks and move parts up to 35 pounds.
• Distinguish various wires by color, size, thickness, markings.

Responsibilities

• Effectively use instructions and schematics, hand tools, equipment, and fixtures to assemble and install parts/hardware for WFE.
• Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to changing priorities, including rework requirements to maintain workflow and production schedules.
• Ensure correct part delivery and perform visual inspection of components before installation.
• Contribute to audits by conducting visual inspections, verifying checklists, and performing leak checks as needed.
• Cross-train in multiple work centers (e.g., Final Assembly, Sub Assembly, Feeder Bay, Preship, NPI).
• Train other assemblers on specific job functions and role modeling continuous improvement behaviors.
• Identify and document Non-Conformance Items (NCIs), escalating to engineering as needed.
• Support a safe work environment by following safe work practices, adhering to safety guidelines, utilizing PPE, and following LOTO policies and procedures.
• Provide timely clear communication to stakeholders including production status, tasks completed, signoffs, detailed descriptions, continuous improvement ideas, and shift pass downs.
