Sunway Computer Services Sdn Bhd, a Sunway Group company, is seeking a Pre-Sales Engineer for ELV solutions in Malaysia. The role involves designing, proposing, and presenting ELV systems to clients, supported by site surveys, technical proposals, and collaboration with vendors and the sales team.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of ELV/ICT pre-sales experience with knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, and Networking. Travel to client sites is required; familiarity with major ELV brands is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics/IT/Telecommunications or related field.
• 2–5 years of ELV/ICT/security pre-sales experience.
• Strong knowledge of ELV systems including CCTV, Access Control, and Structured Cabling.

The Pre-Sales Engineer for ELV is responsible for supporting the sales team by designing, proposing, and presenting ELV solutions to customers. The role involves understanding customer requirements, preparing technical proposals, conducting site surveys, coordinating with principals/vendors, and ensuring proposed solutions meet both technical and commercial requirements.

The candidate should possess strong technical knowledge in ELV systems such as CCTV, Access Control, Structured Cabling, PA System, Networking, Smart Building Solutions, and Security Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical & Pre-Sales Support

• Engage with customers to understand business and technical requirements.
• Conduct site surveys and requirement gathering sessions.
• Design and propose ELV solutions based on customer needs and project specifications.
• Prepare technical proposals, solution diagrams, BOM (Bill of Materials), and scope of work.
• Assist the sales team during presentations, product demonstrations, and technical discussions.
• Prepare tender documentation and support RFQ/RFP submissions.
• Review tender specifications and compliance requirements.

Solution Design & Documentation

• Develop ELV system architecture and schematic drawings.
• Prepare costing, sizing, and technical comparisons.
• Coordinate with vendors/principals for quotations and technical support.
• Ensure all proposals comply with industry standards and customer requirements.
• Work closely with project and implementation teams for smooth project handover.
• Provide technical consultation to customers.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Attend client meetings, technical briefings, and project discussions.
• Maintain strong relationships with technology partners and principals.

Project & Market Support

• Keep updated on latest ELV technologies and market trends.
• Support proof-of-concept (POC), testing, and system demonstrations.
• Assist in project planning and implementation support when required.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, IT, Telecommunications, or related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in ELV, ICT, or security solutions pre-sales role.
• Knowledge in ELV systems such as:
• Access Control System
• Structured Cabling
• PA System
• Intercom System
• Networking
• Smart Building / IoT Solutions
• Familiarity with brands such as Hikvision, Uniview, or similar is an added advantage.
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience in tendering and proposal preparation.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Visio.
• Possess own transport and willing to travel for site visits.
