Job summary

Gultech (Malaysia)Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quality Engineer to investigate in-process quality issues and drive CAPA for recurring PCB defects. You will lead root cause analyses and coordinate with Process Engineering, Production, R&D, Materials, and SQE to resolve high-impact issues.

Responsibilities include supporting customer complaints, OBA and RMA cases, verifying effectiveness of corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement in product quality and process performance.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Engineering, Quality Management or related field.
• 1-3 years in PCB manufacturing, preferably in HDI, IC Substrate, or automotive PCB manufacturing under an IATF 16949 environment.
• Familiar with quality control techniques, PDCA, 5-Why, 8D problem-solving, Fishbone analysis, and Pareto analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to prepare quality reports and documentation.
• Experience with JMP or Minitab for statistical analysis is an added advantage.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, with the ability to read and write technical specifications and reports. Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Job description

Investigate and resolve in-process quality abnormalities and recurring defects in PCB manufacturing.

Lead root cause analysis for defects such as short/open circuits, mis-registration, delamination, voids, and contamination using 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, and Pareto analysis.

Drive the development, implementation, and verification of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to ensure effective containment and prevent recurrence.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Process Engineering, Production, R&D, Material, and Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE), to resolve recurring or high-impact quality issues.

Support customer complaints, Outgoing Quality Assurance (OBA), and Return Material Authorization (RMA) cases through internal investigations, 8D report preparation, and corrective action implementation.

Monitor corrective action effectiveness and drive continuous improvement in product quality and process performance.

Job Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.

1-3 years of working experience in PCB manufacturing, preferably in HDI, IC Substrate, or automotive PCB manufacturing under an IATF 16949 environment.

Familiar with quality control techniques, PDCA, 5-Why, 8D problem-solving, Fishbone analysis, and Pareto analysis.
