POET Technologies Inc. in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Quality Engineer (PQE) to monitor and improve manufacturing processes.

You will inspect materials, analyze quality data, and ensure outputs meet internal standards and external regulations throughout the product lifecycle. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to develop and maintain QA protocols, perform inspections, root-cause analysis, and support NPD and supplier quality initiatives to drive yield

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 1–3 years of quality experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Knowledge of quality tools (FMEA, 8D, 5 Whys, SPC, MSA, PPAP) and AQL sampling.
• Proficiency in inspection tools (digital microscope, CMM) and statistical software (Minitab).
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.

The incumbent responsible for monitoring and improving the quality of operational processes and outputs in a manufacturing or engineering environment. This role involves inspecting materials and products, analysing quality data, and ensuring that production meets internal standards and external regulations. PQE also work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Maintain product quality standards, control plans, and inspection procedures.
• Perform incoming, in-process, and outgoing product inspections.
• Analyze quality data to identify defect trends and improvement opportunities.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Support New Product Development (NPD) to ensure quality requirements are integrated.
• Support product failure investigations and supplier quality issue resolution.
• Maintain quality documentation (FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, SPC records).
• Support compliance with ISO, customer, and semiconductor industry standards (e.g., JEDEC, IPC, Mil-STD).
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to verify product conformance.
• Support audits and drive continuous improvement to improve yield and reduce defects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 1-3 years of quality experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
