Job summary

NUR Power Sdn Bhd in Kulim Hi-Tech Park seeks an Operations Field Technician to support safe, reliable plant operation through routine monitoring, inspection, and data collection. You will assist with start-up/shutdowns, maintenance isolation, and housekeeping while following safety and environmental procedures.

The role requires experience in power plant operations, relevant engineering certifications, and a focus on continuous improvement, safety, and teamwork within a fast-paced facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–6 years working experience in a similar industry or 2–4 years in Combined Cycle Gas Turbined power plant operations.
• Diploma/Certificate in Engineering Disciplines or equivalent.
• Steam Engine Driver Grade 2 or higher.
• Authorized Gas Tester & Entry Supervisor for Confined Space (AGTES).
• Knowledgeable in P&ID and process principles.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine pre-starts and post-starts checks for plant system operations per schedule.
• Conduct routine rounds to capture site operations data and report abnormalities.
• Collect data from charts, meters, and gauges and take corrective action as needed for daily reports.
• Operate plant auxiliaries (e.g., ESDG, Fire Fighting, Water Treatment) as directed and monitor performance.
• Open/close valves and switches per CCR signals to start/shut down turbines and HRSGs.
• Assist with PTW-based isolation/de-isolation and recommissioning after maintenance.
• Make minor repairs and report needs for major repairs.
• Monitor equipment and indicators to detect operating issues.
• Participate as fire/ERT member and attend related training.
• Maintain housekeeping to ensure clean working area at all times.
• Relay daily plant status to the next shift smoothly and accurately.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, EHS guidelines, and safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Diploma/Certificate in Engineering Disciplines

Steam Engine Driver Grade 2

Authorized Gas Tester & Entry Supervisor for Confined Space (AGTES)
