Job summary

The NUR Power company in Malaysia seeks a plant operator to perform routine pre-start and post-start checks, monitor plant systems, and collect data to support daily statistical reporting.

Based in Malaysia, you will operate plant auxiliaries, manage valve sequencing from CCR, assist with PTW isolations, and ensure compliance with EHS, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines while maintaining clean and orderly plant areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine pre-starts and post-starts checks for plant system operations prior to start up and after the steady state of operations as per planned schedule.
• Perform routine round checks to capture site plant operations data and report abnormalities to CCR.
• Collect data from charts, meters, and gauges at established intervals and take corrective steps for daily statistical reports.
• Operate plant auxiliaries such as Emergency Diesel Generator, Fire Fighting system, Water Treatment Plant, pumps per schedule and monitor parameters.
• Open and close valves and switches in sequence on signals from CCR to start or shut down gas turbines, HRSG, Steam Turbine and other units.
• Assist SCE with process isolations/de-isolations under PTW and recommission systems after maintenance.
• Make adjustments or minor repairs (tightening leaks, joints) and report major repair needs.
• Monitor and inspect plant equipment and indicators to detect operating problems.
• Serve as fire-fighting team member or ERT and participate in related training.
• Maintain housekeeping in the plant area and keep it tidy at all times.
• Relay daily plant equipment status to the next shift smoothly and effectively.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, safety procedures, SOPs, and EHS guidelines.
• Perform any additional tasks to accomplish company objectives as assigned.
