Job summary

Frencken Mechatronics (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a powder coating technician to prepare metal parts, apply powder coating, and oversee the coating process to meet thickness and finish specifications. You will set up equipment, monitor production, and ensure safety and cleanliness in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires basic knowledge of powder coating, experience with spray guns, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Technical or vocational qualification in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Metal Fabrication or related field is advantageous.
• Minimum 1 year of working experience in a manufacturing, powder coating, metal fabrication, or related production environment.
• Basic knowledge of powder coating processes, techniques, equipment, and materials.
• Able to understand coating requirements including colour, thickness, coverage, and finish.

Responsibilities

• Prepare metal parts and surfaces for powder coating through cleaning, degreasing, sanding, grinding, masking, and other required preparation processes.
• Inspect parts and surfaces to ensure they are properly prepared before the coating process.
• Operate powder coating spray guns and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Apply powder coating evenly according to specified thickness, colour, finish, and quality requirements.
• Set up and adjust powder coating equipment, air pressure, powder flow, and other coating parameters.
