Job summary

MyTOWN Shopping Centre in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a vigilant Security Officer to patrol designated areas, enforce safety and fire regulations, and report emergencies promptly.

You will supervise outsourced security staff, monitor activities, manage crowd control during peak hours, and ensure smooth traffic flow, with a focus on maintaining a safe and orderly mall environment.

Qualifications

• SPM with passes in at least 5 subjects, including Bahasa Melayu and Sejarah
• Malaysian citizen aged 20–35 years
• No Criminal Record & Drug Influence; good health and eyesight
• Average height: Male 165 cm, Female 157 cm
• Good health and fitness
• BMI 18–30%
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience

Responsibilities

• Carry out safety and security duties as assigned.
• Comply with instructions from Senior Security Assistant and higher-ranking officers.
• Report emergencies to Senior Security Assistant and take immediate action.
• Patrol designated routes and locations as directed.
• Ensure smooth traffic flow during peak hours and handle errant motorists and illegal parking.
• Report faults, damages, leaks, fires, or hazards to Senior Security Assistant.
• Monitor and report construction/maintenance activities and noise levels.
• Supervise outsourced security personnel and monitor service provider performance.
• Enforce safety and fire regulations, conduct security checks, inspections, and audits (Sec Check).

Job description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Patrolling and static post control, crime prevention and detecting suspicious activities.

Responsibilities Of The Job

• Carry out safety and security duties as assigned.
• Comply at all times with instructions from the Senior Security Assistant and higher-ranking officers.
• Report all emergencies to the Senior Security Assistant and take immediate and appropriate action in cases of emergencies, incidents, criminal activities, pickets, riots, sabotage, civil disturbances, and related threats.
• Patrol designated routes and locations, or any other areas as directed from time to time.
• Ensure smooth traffic flow during peak hours and emergencies, and take appropriate action against errant motorists and illegal parking.
• Immediately report any mechanical or electrical faults, property damage, water leakages, gas leaks, lift malfunctions (where applicable), fire hazards, or related issues to the Senior Security Assistant.
• Monitor, record, and report construction activities and maintenance/upgrade works within the vicinity, including working hours, nature of work, and noise levels.
• Supervise outsourced security personnel and monitor the service provider’s performance to ensure compliance with standards.
• Enforce all safety and fire regulations within the mall, including conducting security checks, inspections, and audits (Sec Check).

Qualifications

• SPM with passes in at least 5 subjects, including Bahasa Melayu and Sejarah.
• Malaysian citizen aged within 20 years old to 35 years’ old
• Do not have any Criminal Record & Drug Influence and have a good health condition and eye sight
• Average height for Male is 165cm & Female is 157cm
• Good health and fitness
• Body mass index of between 18%-30%
• At least 1 year(s) of working experience in the related field
