Job summary

Kossan Latex Industries (M) Sdn Bhd in Penang invites applications for a Plant Engineering & Maintenance Engineer. You will coordinate with the Production Maintenance Team to implement monthly preventive maintenance planning and scheduled activities to minimize downtime.

The role involves organizing spare parts, managing PM spare parts lists, planning and executing maintenance improvement projects, and leading cross‑functional teams through BOM, procurement, scheduling, and project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a engineering discipline as listed.
• 2–3 years in related maintenance/plant engineering field; fresh graduates accepted for entry level.
• Familiar with maintenance and equipment spare parts management.

Responsibilities

Job description

Plant Engineering & Maintenance Engineer

Coordinate with Production Maintenance Team for Monthly Production Plant Preventive Maintenance Planning / Scheduled Maintenance Activities to reduce Unscheduled Downtime (%) to meet Top Management expectation.

To organize and manage spare part list (PM Maintenance Spare part list) according to Plant Equipment Preventive Maintenance that developed by Plant Improvement Engineer.

Propose, Plan and Manage any maintenance improvement project and new equipment installation project to reduce Production Downtime to hit Top Management expected Downtime Target.

Actively participate in each Plant Equipment Maintenance Improvement project from developing Project Bill of Material (BOM), Material Procurement, Project Manpower Planning, Project Gantt Chart, Project Execution & Implementation, and Project Outcome Review Stages.

Shall assist HOD/ superior to secure the environmental, safety, health and welfare of employee or any other related party against risk to environmental, safety or health.

Plan, coordinate, and implement maintenance improvement and new equipment installation projects to achieve production downtime targets in accordance with approved plans and company requirements.

Job Requirements:

A. Qualification

Candidate must possess Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automation / Mechatronics/ Industrial Engineering or equivalent.

B. Experience

At least 2 - 3 years’ working experience in related field (Fresh graduate for entry level).

To monitor and ensure the good quality work of vendors engaging in specialized of maintenance service works, such as maintenance works to glove dipping production line, sprocket & roller chain corrective, preventive maintenance, centrifugal pump, chemical dosing pump, induction motor, blower impeller fan operation & maintenance, scrubber operation & etc.

Familiar with mechanical engineering specification (ASME Code, BSI Code, JIS Code) and documentation control.

Have years of experience leading and working with cross departmental multifunctional “FOCUS “OR “TASK FORCE” teams to carryout improvements for process and maintenance.

C. Other Personal Capabilities

Able to lead, coach and manage technician to carry out mechanical and electrical process design improvement related to Plant equipment, process improvement for existing production line setup.

Able to set goal and cascade down to technician for plant efficiency pertaining to operating cost, energy conservation, overall down time and talent training and retention.

Exposure to Systematic and positive problem-solving approach. Proactive in initiating improvement suggestion and follow through the improvement.

Able to communicate well with cross functional top management, manager, superior and subordinates.
