Private Advertiser in Malaysia is looking for a Planning & Production Control Manager to lead production planning and scheduling for precision engineering and manufacturing. You will optimize capacity, manage demand, and coordinate with Production, Procurement, and Quality to ensure on-time delivery.
You will oversee MRP/ERP data, monitor KPIs, drive improvements in lead times and inventory turnover, and develop the PPC team.
Lead production planning and scheduling based on demand, customer orders, inventory, materials and available capacity.
Monitor production progress and work with relevant teams to resolve delays, material shortages, bottlenecks and capacity constraints.
Oversee MRP, material planning and inventory levels to ensure smooth production while controlling excess and obsolete stock.
Manage short-, medium- and long-term capacity planning covering manpower, machinery, equipment and production lines.
Ensure production plans support on-time delivery and respond effectively to urgent orders or changing customer requirements.
Maintain accurate planning, inventory and production data within the ERP/MRP system.
Analyse production, inventory and delivery KPIs and drive improvements in planning accuracy, productivity, lead time and inventory turnover.
Work closely with Production, Procurement, Warehouse, Quality, Sales and Finance to align priorities and resolve operational issues.
Lead and develop the Planning & Production Control team, promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
Support NPI, product transfers and other manufacturing projects from a planning and capacity perspective.
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business or a related field.
8+ years of relevant experience in production planning, material planning, production control or supply chain within manufacturing, including more than 5 years of hands-on experience in Planning & Production Control (PPC) and 3–5 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
Ability to read and understand technical/engineering drawings and translate drawing requirements into production planning and control activities.
Experience in high-volume, make-to-order, make-to-stock or mixed manufacturing environments.
Strong knowledge of PPC, MRP, MPS, capacity planning, inventory management, production scheduling and supply chain processes.
Experience with manufacturing ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, Epicor or similar.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a good understanding of manufacturing KPIs and cost control.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, formulas and data analysis; Power BI is an advantage.
Experience in electronics, electrical, precision manufacturing, semiconductor, automation or similar industries is preferred.
APICS/CPIM or other relevant professional certification is an advantage.
