Job summary

Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd is seeking a Planner at Senior Engineer/Executive to Manager level. The role focuses on creating detailed project schedules, baselines, and recovery programs using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction planning and scheduling.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Knowledge of construction methodologies and project controls.
• Extensive experience in large-scale building, infrastructure, industrial, or mixed-development projects.

Job description

Planner (Senior Engineer/Executive to Manager Level)

Develop detailed project schedules and work programs using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.

Prepare baseline schedules, recovery schedules, and revised construction programs.

Establish project milestones, critical paths, and key deliverables.

Coordinate with project teams to define construction sequences and execution strategies.

Progress Monitoring & Control

Monitor project progress against approved schedules.

Analyze schedule variances and identify potential delays.

Track critical activities and recommend corrective actions.

Update schedules regularly and issue progress reports.

Resource Planning

Develop manpower, equipment, and material deployment plans.

Monitor resource utilization and productivity.

Coordinate with project management to optimize resource allocation.

Reporting & Documentation

Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management and clients.

Present project performance indicators, schedule status, and recovery plans.

Maintain project planning records and documentation.

Generate S-curves, Earned Value reports, and trend analyses.

Identify schedule risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Conduct delay analysis and evaluate time impact claims.

Support extension of time (EOT) submissions and contractual claim assessments.

Monitor project constraints and propose solutions.

Stakeholder Coordination

Liaise with project managers, site teams, consultants, subcontractors, and clients.

Participate in project meetings and provide planning updates.

Coordinate schedule interfaces among multiple contractors and stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
