Job summary

Tecomet, Inc. in Penang, George Town, Malaysia is seeking a Production Planner on a 6-month contract to develop and maintain production schedules, ensuring on-time delivery and optimal capacity utilization.

The role requires 3–5 years in production planning or inventory management, with proficiency in Excel and ERP. Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English is preferred to coordinate with manufacturing teams and suppliers. This is a contract position on-site in Penang.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in any science field is required.
• 3–5 years in production planning or inventory control.
• Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Experience with manufacturing processes and scheduling.
• Proficient in Excel; ERP knowledge is a plus.
• Willing to a 6-month contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand and optimize capacity utilization.
• Monitor production progress and coordinate with production personnel to avoid delays or minimize impact on customers.
• Participate/Lead Daily Production meetings to adjust schedules based on demand or constraints.
• Report on-time-delivery performance; monitor and report issues.
• Ensure sufficient stock of materials to prevent production stoppage, considering forecast and lead times.
• Manage safety stock to cover supply disruptions.
• Handle any other ad-hoc tasks related to the job scope.

• Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand and optimize capacity utilization.
• Monitor production progress and coordinate with the related production personnel to ensure there are no delays or to solve delays, with no impact or minimum impact on the customer.
• Participate/Lead Daily Production meetings to review and adjust schedules based on changing demands or constraints.
• Reporting and monitoring of On-Time-Delivery performance.
• Report any problems or risks related to the production plan or delay to the management when required.
• Ensure sufficient stock of materials or components are available to prevent any production stoppage, by considering the forecast, production plan as well as the lead time of the materials or components.
• Manage enough material or component safety stock to prevent any production stoppage when there is a disruption to the supply.
• Any other ad-hoc tasks which are related to the job scope.

Qualifications

• Min: Diploma/Degree holder in any science field.
• At least 3-5 years of working experience in production planning, inventory management or any related field.
• Able to converse in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Experience working with manufacturing processes and production scheduling.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Analytical and computer literate, proficient in using Excel. Having knowledge in ERP is an added advantage.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Willing to accept 6 months contract assignment.
