Job summary

JHM ENGINEERING SDN BHD is a precision engineering and fabrication company serving the EMS/semiconductor industries around Bayan Lepas, Batu Maung. This role focuses on production planning and strategic purchasing to ensure OTIF delivery and optimal inventory levels.

Ideal candidates hold a relevant degree, 1–3 years of planning/purchasing experience, and strong Excel/ERP/MRP skills. Local candidates in Batu Maung are preferred, with potential exposure to precision machining sectors.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in a relevant field.
• 1-3 years planning/purchasing experience preferred.
• Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot) and ERP/MRP tools.
• Knowledge of BOM, MRP, lead times and ISO 9001.
• Able to communicate with suppliers and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily/weekly production schedules based on POs and machine capacity.
• Coordinate with Production, Store, QC & Sales to ensure OTIF delivery.
• Monitor material shortages, WIP and release production orders.
• Prepare reports for Daily Production Status, Clear-to-Build & Material Shortage.
• Manage purchasing of raw materials, components and consumables; obtain quotations and negotiate.
• Local purchasing is routine; overseas/import purchasing is ad-hoc per projects.
• Control stock levels, safety stock and prevent stockouts/overstock.
• Evaluate supplier performance in terms of price, quality and delivery.

About Us:

JHM ENGINEERING SDN BHD is a precision engineering and fabrication company supporting the EMS / Semiconductor industries around Bayan Lepas.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning:

Plan daily / weekly production schedules based on customer POs and machine capacity.

Coordinate with Production, Store, QC & Sales teams to ensure OTIF delivery.

Monitor material shortages, WIP, and release production orders in the system.

Prepare reports for Daily Production Status, Clear-to-Build & Material Shortage.

2. Purchasing Planner:

Manage purchasing of raw materials, components, and consumables - obtain quotations, price comparison, price & lead time negotiation.

Local purchasing is on a routine basis, while overseas / import purchasing is on an ad-hoc basis depending on projects.

Control stock levels, safety stock and prevent stockout / overstock.

Evaluate supplier performance in terms of price, quality and delivery.

Requirements:

• Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Admin (Operations), Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.
• 1-3 years of experience in Production Planning / Material Planning / Purchasing in a manufacturing environment is PREFERRED. Fresh graduates with factory internship experience may be considered.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot) and experienced in using ERP / MRP systems (SAP, SQL, NAV, Autocount).
• Understands BOM, MRP, Lead Time and ISO 9001.
• Able to communicate with suppliers, disciplined and able to work under delivery pressure.
• Malaysian citizen and able to work in Batu Maung.

Added Advantage:

• Experience in Precision Machining / Sheet Metal / Jig & Fixture industry.
