Job summary

Comet Group is seeking a Planner for its Plasma Control Technologies division at the Penang site. The role requires 5+ years in production planning within electronics, mechanical, or semiconductor industries and strong SAP, Excel, and data-analysis skills.

You will develop and maintain production schedules, coordinate with Purchasing, Production, Engineering, QA, and Customer Service to ensure on-time delivery and optimal inventory. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field.
• 5+ years of production planning experience in manufacturing (electronics, mechanical, or semiconductorpreferred).
• Strong knowledge of SAP, production planning, demand planning, material planning, and capacity management.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office tools with data analysis and planning optimisation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management in a fast-paced cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production plans to ensure on-time delivery and optimized inventory.
• Use SAP and planning tools to convert demand into supply plans and ensure material availability.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Production, Engineering, QA, and Customer Service to align priorities.
• Monitor capacity, demand changes, and material constraints; adjust schedules accordingly.
• Drive continuous improvement through KPI tracking, inventory optimization, and ECO support.

Planner

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

What You Will Do

• Develop and maintain daily, short-term, and long-term production plans to ensure on-time delivery (OTD), optimized inventory levels, and efficient resource utilization.
• Utilize SAP and planning tools to analyze demand, convert requirements into supply plans, and ensure material availability to support production schedules.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Purchasing, Production, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service to align priorities and resolve planning challenges.
• Monitor production capacity, demand changes, order fluctuations, and material constraints while proactively adjusting schedules to meet business requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in planning processes through KPI tracking, inventory optimization, data analysis, and support for engineering changes (ECOs) and new product projects.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field with at least 5 years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within electronics, mechanical, or semiconductor industries.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in SAP, production planning, demand planning, material planning, and capacity management.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office tools, with strong capability in data analysis, reporting, and planning optimization.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a customer-oriented mindset and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
