Job summary

Comet Technologies Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking an Operational Buyer (German Speaker) for the Penang site. You will procure production materials, components, MRO items and services, and support price benchmarking and supplier selection.

Fluency in German and English at least B2, plus practical experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and strong Excel skills, are required for success in this role. You will collaborate across departments to ensure timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field.
• German and English communication skills, ideally at B2 level.
• Experience with ERP systems (prefer SAP) and strong Excel skills.
• Knowledge of import processes, procurement, material planning and supplier management.
• Analytical, communicative, team-oriented with structured, independent work style.

Responsibilities

• Procure production materials, components, MRO items, CAPEX investments, and services.
• Conduct price comparisons and market research to benchmark suppliers.
• Plan material requirements and coordinate procurement orders in the ERP system.
• Monitor purchase orders, deliveries, and communicate with suppliers; manage procurement-related claims.
• Ensure smooth communication and collaboration with suppliers and internal departments.

To complement our team, we are looking for a customer- and teamoriented individual for our division Plasma Control Technologies at the Penang site as a

Operational Buyer (German Speaker)

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

What You Will Do

• Procure production materials, mechanical and electrical components, MRO items, CAPEX investments, and services according to business requirements.
• Conduct price comparisons and market research to benchmark suppliers, support purchasing decisions, and optimize procurement costs.
• Plan material requirements and create, coordinate, and manage procurement orders in the ERP system.
• Monitor purchase orders, follow up on deliveries, communicate with suppliers, and manage procurement-related claims.
• Ensure smooth communication and collaboration with suppliers and internal departments while maintaining effective working relationships.

What You Bring

• University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field, with relevant experience in procurement; experience in the electronics industry is an advantage.
• Good German and English communication skills, preferably at B2 intermediate level.
• Practical experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Basic knowledge of import processes and a good understanding of procurement, material planning, and supplier management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with a structured, reliable, diligent, and independent working style.
