BR Metals Pte Ltd in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Physical Commodity Trader to drive growth in our precious metals trading business, combining client acquisition with robust trade execution skills.

The role focuses on providing institutional clients with trading services and risk management solutions, while proactively developing new clients and wholesale channels. A deep product knowledge of precious metals and a strong compliance mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or related field.
• Proven experience in physical precious metals trading, sales or commercial roles within the commodities sector.
• Strong understanding of precious metals products (Gold, Silver, PGM) and pricing mechanisms.
• Demonstrated client acquisition capabilities and ability to develop wholesale channels.

Responsibilities

• Develop and acquire new suppliers and customers for Gold, Silver and PGM business.
• Conduct market intelligence, competitor analysis and identify new business opportunities.
• Lead customer negotiations, pricing discussions and commercial proposals.
• Initiate the KYC process and counterparty assessment before onboarding new accounts.
• Build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with customers and suppliers, while driving sales targets and profitability targets.
• Provide daily pricing and commercial quotations.
• Execute precious metals and foreign exchange transactions within approved limits.
• Identify trading opportunities to maximize profitability.
• Monitor trading positions, exposure and profit/loss performance.
• Verify trading book records and support management decision-making.
• Review trading details sheets, purchase agreements and sales contracts before execution.
• Ensure compliance with company trading policies and risk management framework.
• Monitor outstanding exposures, payment risks and customer credit limits.
• Support audits, management reviews and regulatory filings to ensure compliance with local financial regulations.
• Prepare management reports on sales, trading performance and profitability, along with market updates and business forecasts to support strategic planning.
• Coordinate closely with Sales Support, Operations, Finance and Logistics teams to ensure seamless cross-functional execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Skill Requirements:

Must-to-Haves:

• Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or related field.
• Proven experience in physical precious metals trading, sales or commercial roles within the commodities sector, covering the end-to-end trade lifecycle.
• Solid understanding of precious metals products (Gold, Silver, PGM) and pricing mechanisms.
• Demonstrated experience in business development and client acquisition.
• Strong negotiation, communication and relationship management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment with attention to detail.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin (both written and spoken)
• Willing to travel for business at the short notice.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with international bullion banks, commodity trading houses or refineries.
• Familiarity with LBMA market structure.
• Knowledge of FX hedging or structured metal products.
