Job summary

Experian Asia Pacific in Malaysia is seeking a Software Engineer to help design, develop and deploy software applications with a focus on RESTful APIs and system integration.

You will participate in research, design, development and testing, ensure quality and architecture compliance, and collaborate with clients through workshops and reviews while reporting to the Head of Software Development.

Qualifications

• Degree / Advanced Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent.
• At least 4 years of software development, system design and application support.
• Strong front-end skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and Angular.
• Strong back-end skills: PHP and MySQL; knowledge of C# and .NET.
• RESTful APIs design, development and integration using XML/JSON.
• Experience with AWS services.
• Experience with CodeIgniter and MVC architecture.
• Understanding of Agile, SCRUM, SDLC and software design concepts.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab).

Responsibilities

• Participate in research, design, development, integration, testing and deployment of software applications.
• Design, develop and support RESTful APIs and system integration.
• Conduct technical analysis and design of application modules and database.
• Ensure modules comply with architecture standards, coding standards and quality requirements.
• Attend client meetings, requirement gathering sessions, solution reviews and technical workshops to support project delivery and system integration.

What you'll bring to the team

• Must possess a Degree / Advanced Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent. Seniority will be commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications.
• At least 4 years of experience in software development, system design and application support.
• Strong proficiency in modern front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery and Angular.
• Strong proficiency in back-end development using PHP and MySQL. Knowledge or experience in C# and .NET technologies.
• Hands-on experience in designing, developing, documenting, testing and supporting RESTful APIs using XML/JSON.
• Familiarity with AWS services is also required.
• Experience with CodeIgniter, and MVC architecture
• Good understanding of Agile, SCRUM, SDLC and software design concepts.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
