Job summary

Experian Malaysia is seeking an Associate Developer to design, develop and maintain software programs in line with requirements, quality standards and delivery timelines.

You will work with JAVA/J2EE, Spring Framework, .NET, RESTful APIs and Azure, building RESTful APIs, microservices, and data integration solutions while supporting CI/CD, DevOps and cloud-native development. Hybrid work arrangement offered with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of Java 21+, Spring Framework, JDBC, and Object-Oriented Programming principles.
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, software engineering principles, and scalable application design.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL optimisation, and data modelling concepts.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, gRPC, and microservices architecture.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps practices, software testing, and automated deployment pipelines.
• Interest in designing reliable, observable systems for large-scale data processing.
• Knowledge of Git, Azure DevOps, and Agile development methodologies.
• Exposure to Generative AI technologies or AI-assisted development tools.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Associate Developer you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining software programs in accordance to requirements and specifications, established or defined quality and performance standards, and within delivery timelines.

The technologies that you will be working with to develop software programs include but not limited to JAVA/J2EE, Spring Framework, .NET, Entity Framework, the ASP.NET MVC Framework, Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), RESTful API and Azure.

• You will develop and maintain Java-based applications using Java 21+, Spring Framework, Gradle, and modern software engineering practices.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs, microservices, and data integration solutions, MySQL, designing efficient queries and supporting data processing requirements.
• Troubleshooting, debugging, performance tuning, and root cause analysis across production and non-production environments.
• You will also contribute to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps initiatives, cloud-native development, and application observability.
• Collaborate with Development Leads to estimate, design, and deliver high-quality technical solutions.
• Explore the use of Generative AI and AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and software quality.

• Experience through internships, academic projects, personal projects, hackathons, or work experience is welcome.
• Experience building scalable, resilient, and observable distributed systems and debugging skills, with the ability to evaluate solutions and translate our requirements into practical technical outcomes.
