Job summary

Experian is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer in Product Engineering to design, build, and operate customer-facing and internal platforms across APIs, services, and data. You’ll primarily work in the PHP and MySQL ecosystem within AWS, while enabling GenAI coding assistants under governance.

You should bring 5+ years in PHP development and 3+ years with React.js, plus strong OO design and relational DB experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
• 5+ years of PHP application development and software design.
• 3+ years of React.js and modern front-end development.
• Strong knowledge of OO programming, design patterns and relational databases.
• Experience with Laravel or CodeIgniter.
• AWS, Linux environments, and Nginx experience.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium or Playwright.
• Ability to communicate updates to customers and partners with Agile delivery and secure practices.
• Commitment to security, privacy, and compliance standards (PCI/ISO/SOC).
• This role reports directly to the Hiring Manager.

The team develops innovative data-sharing solutions that help financial institutions make faster, more informed lending decisions through Australia's Consumer Data Right (CDR) framework, empowering lenders, brokers, and fintechs to instantly verify income, assess affordability, and accelerate lending decisions. As part of this innovative and fast-growing business unit, you'll contribute to building and enhancing solutions that simplify access to trusted financial data, improve customer experiences, and drive the future of Open Banking.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer in Product Engineering, you'll design, build, and operate customer-facing and internal platforms across APIs, services, and data—primarily on the PHP and MySQL ecosystem and AWS Cloud environment. You'll also help the team safely leverage GenAI coding assistants, such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Lovable, to improve delivery velocity, code quality, and developer experience, in line with our AI governance standards.

What you'll need to bring to the role & Experian

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in PHP application development and software design.
• 3+ years of experience with React.js and modern front-end development.
• Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented programming, design patterns, and relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
• Experience with Python and PHP frameworks such as Laravel or CodeIgniter.
• Familiarity with AWS, Linux environments, and Nginx.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Puppeteer.
• Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners, with exposure to Agile delivery and secure software development practices.
• A commitment to security, privacy, and compliance standards (PCI/ISO/SOC).
• This role reports directly to the Hiring Manager.
• Hybrid working model, with 2 days in the office and 3 days working remotely each week.
