Job summary

Kaya Healthcare Trading in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. This full-time role focuses on delivering excellent customer service, supporting dispensing, and ensuring accurate records and compliance with regulatory standards.

You will assist the pharmacist, handle prescriptions and OTC inquiries, manage stock, and help maintain a clean, welcoming pharmacy environment while providing professional care to our customers.

Qualifications

• Secondary school qualification or equivalent; additional pharmacy-related qualifications or training are advantageous.
• Experience in a pharmacy, healthcare setting, or customer-facing retail environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly with medications and prescriptions.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers and healthcare professionals.
• Proficiency in using computer systems and pharmacy management software.
• Genuine interest in healthcare and commitment to patient privacy.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also managing tasks independently.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist with the preparation, labelling and dispensing of prescribed medications to customers.
• Receive and process prescription orders from customers with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Manage inventory levels, stock rotation and ordering of pharmacy products to ensure adequate supplies are maintained.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service, responding to inquiries about over-the-counter medicines and general health products.
• Maintain accurate records of dispensed medications and sales transactions using pharmacy management systems.
• Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies at all times.
• Support the organisation and cleanliness of the pharmacy workspace and storage areas.
• Assist with till operations and processing customer payments.
• Educate customers on the proper use and storage of medications when appropriate.
